As a photographer I want to make sure I challenge myself. Over the past year I have really fell in love with photographing couples, I mean I loved it before but I've been developing a way to have all my couples connect and not just "pose pretty" for the camera. Being able to photograph couples at any stage in their relationship has been my goal over the past 8 months! My sessions, whether it's an engagement, anniversary even a wedding, it is all about YOU and who you are as a couple at this point in your relationship together. I want my couples to connect, love deeper and just have fun. Yes, I may ask you to do some silly things, you may look at my weird... just go with the flow and we'll create some amazing memories together that show you as authentically as I can (we'll even get REAL laughter and real smiles) - to document this point in time so you can go on and look back and say "Whoa was that really us!?" To show generations that come after you who you were, what you were like and so they can say "Man, my parents were freakin' awesome back then!" On this snowy day I find myself daydreaming of future goals, browsing images on Instagram, finding inspiration. My dream, my goal... a studio. A place that I can go to to create, full of light, not my corner in a dark basement that is a complete disaster right now. A beautiful place where I can bring clients, photograph, inspire & share with others. I'm a dreamer that is for sure. I picture something like this, away from the city. My heart longs for a place, a garden designed for photo shoots for @whimsicalwonderlandyxe and for intimate weddings. I've had this idea for a long time, I've been procrastinating because I'm only a part time photographer (full time mom) and this space means stepping out of my comfort zone, making a plan and being able to have others see my plan, my vision and know that it will be so worth it. I'm a dreamer and there is no reason not to be. Dream, plan and go make those dreams come true. 💛 Ps. You guys, I am so freakin excited for this retreat in less than a month!!! So excited to make connections with some amazing photographers, get my learn on, enjoy the beautiful BC Coast and portfolio build!!! One of my biggest short term goals is to be able to travel to Vancouver Island 1-2 times a year.
