Hidden Brook Farm
Description
Hidden Brook Farm breeds various breed of Bantam Chickens, as well as Muscovies in blue and chocolate, Pekins and buff ducks. We also have standard RIRs Here at Hidden Brook Farm, I take pride in breeding my bantam chickens. For those of you who wonder what a bantam is, they are much small than the "standard" size chickens, with each bird weighing 2 pounds or less. The benefits of a small chicken is they are cheaper to keep, feed and the eggs are slightly smaller, but taste just as good as the big eggs!
I strive to breed my chickens with the APA standards in mind, producing a chicken that is well built, and well colored for show and breeding. The ones that don't quite measure up to my standards, they will be sold as pets/backyard birds.
My Chickens are given lots of room, with pens which they live most of the time being 6x13 feet in size as the smallest, to my largest pen at 14x14 feet, for larger numbers of chickens. Ceilings are 7 feet high, to encourage roosting.
Some chickens, such as the Plymouth Barred Rock, White Bearded Silkies, Buff Brahma, and the Silver Laced Wyandotte are left to free range on our farm land, going in and out as they please, being locked in at night for safety purposes. In the near future, I will be building runs for the other birds, so they can forage outside in a protected, fenced in area during the summer months.

Wonderful morning on the farm today. Hubby got most of my breeding pens done this weekend, just need a few things added to the last 2 pens. Hatching season is going very well here. We will be adding a few breeds to the farm in about a month or two! Very excited to announce these breeds, but will wait until they have landed here. Only hint I will give, is that they are "rare" around here!
