Wildlife Attractant Control Bylaw UPDATE As per City of Rossland Wildlife Attractant Control Bylaw #261 [a Bylaw to deter all wildlife such as dogs, raccoons, dear, birds, bears, etc. from easy access to household garbage], please note that the contractor will no longer be picking up any residential garbage that is not: 1. Placed in a Metal or Plastic garbage can with a tight/secure fitting lid, and 2. Has corresponding labels/stickers for Large or Small bags (which are available at Ferraro’s and are to be placed on outside of any bag being disposed of). If you have extra household garbage at anytime, then you will need to purchase an extra garbage can for these occasions. The fine for violation of Bylaw #2615 ranges from $100-$400 and is the responsibility of the property owner - regardless of who resides in the residence. Therefore, please ensure that your tenants, guests and/or family members are aware of this Bylaw. Warnings will no longer be given and any fine imposed by Bylaw Enforcement personnel will not be repealed or forgiven due to disregard of the City Bylaw. Please visit www.rossland.ca to find more information on this, and any other City Bylaw.
