The Jazz Club is very excited to present Dutch Grammy winners Ineke Vandoorn, piano and vocals, and Marc van Vugt, guitar. The duo explores the boundaries of both improvisation and lyrical songs, creating their own world with their funky arrangements and modern music full of rich harmonies and haunting melodies. Vandoorn's exceptional and warm vocals are supported by solos full of detours by guitarist Marc van Vugt. Although there are obviously echoes of different styles like jazz, the virtuoso Brazilian choro and the fairytale-like (pop) music of Scandinavia, their music is unmistakably Vandoorn/Van Vugt. This will be a remarkable night of world class live music, and we hope you will be able to join us. Admission is by donation and doors open at 7:00

The Groovineers are a mostly Revelstoke based roup rooted in Jazz but combining that with Blues, Rock and Groove styles. Comprised of Darcy Purcell - guitar, Matt Yaki - drums, Dave Marfleet - bass and Carl Laurence - horns and keys, the band has played in Revelstoke for a number of years in various forms of jazz based groups. They are a dynamic group of players, covering a wide range of music. Matt and Dave come from the Jazz program at Humber College in Toronto and have established themselves as a fine rhythm team, combining well with Darcy's mostly self taught approach to guitar. Carl, from Revelstoke but now residing in Nelson, fills out the rest with tasteful horn playing and keyboard riffs. The audience is sure enjoy our trip through the musical spectrum - there is something for everyone, from classics, standards with a twist to new school funk driven jazz.

An instrumental modern jazz trio hailing from Salmon Arm, BC. The Basic Needs music can best be described as an honest exploration into the depths of creativity. Guitarist Jordan Dick, bassist Blair Shier, and drummer ( and occasionally trombonist) Gareth Seys combine to produce a provocative, unique sound that is as interesting as it is worthwhile. Whether playing their own imaginative and grooving original compositions or thoughtfully reinventing classic jazz standards and pop tunes with their energized blend of creative interplay and aural sensibility, there's something for almost every music fans ears.
