One day, nine locations. On August 19th join us in Downtown Regina to ‘get the inside story’ as public access is briefly granted within some of our City’s most interesting and fascinating heritage buildings and other sites. Step inside the tallest –and most expensive- building in our City in 1912 (which was also a gathering place for media), have tea in Saskatchewan’s first ‘railway hotel’ built by 1,000 labourers over 11 months, walk a block that withstood a direct hit from the 1912 Regina Cyclone (and was the site of the first house to be built in Regina) then finish your tour off with a brewery tour and beer tasting at a business named after our original settlement in 1882. As part of an international movement that aims to create public access to these buildings, Doors Open 2017 offers guided discussions, guided tours (where noted) and the opportunity for self-guided tours at specific times throughout the day.
