Don't Tax My Health Benefits!
Some news that could possibly impact your dental insurance: The Federal Government of Canada is considering taxing personal health benefits. This means any insurance benefit for dental care, prescriptions, vision care, chiro, physio, massage therapy etc will be counted as additional income and taxed accordingly. A similar tax was introduced in Quebec in the past and it resulted in a 20% decrease in employers that provided health benefits to their employees.
