Friday Fact: If you are looking to lose weight and you do not have a bowel movement everyday you need to assess the primary problem. The reality is you do not need to lose weight, you are just full of poop. Digestion / Bowel movement function should be the primary area of concern for anybody looking to achieve better body composition / weight loss. The gut is where the nutrients get processed to open up your bodies ability to achieve a results. Do not work out more, do not cut calories have a great poop 1-2 x daily. Friday Fact: The foundation of your diet should be 3-4 servings of protein and 3-4 cups of vegetables DAILY. You can eat starch and fruit on top of these foods, but the reality is that they are not as important. Protein and Vegetables are necessary for you to have satiety, improve body composition, brain function, antioxidants, fibre, minerals and energy ( the list can go on). Take a moment and do a food log for 7 days and see if you eat these foods on a DAILY basis. If you do not meet these requirement, what are you eating? Friday Fact: You do not need blood work to see that are you not healthy. In my experience I see many people who tell me that they are "healthy" but they do not look healthy at all. The truth is that many people now days are obsessed with getting tests done prior to change. The reality is that if you are 25%+ body fat, taking 1-2 medications, Overweight, bad skin, and the day is a marathon chances are you not in optimal health. The best practitioners that I have met , actually use zero labs in the beginning and then as things get more stagnate they refer to tests ( try maybe 3-9 months before doing bloodwork). If you have any the symptoms that I have mentioned above, let me save you some money. You probably have adrenal fatigue, leaky gut syndrome, nutrient defencies etc. Do not put yourself into a box with all these different diagnosis. What really happens when you mix medications?

Here is some insight into mixing medications. I have always been intrigued with the fact that more people today are taking more drugs then ever. I have also noticed that once people start taking 1 drug, if they do not have a intervention on their health they generally need to add more drugs to their daily regime. I have heard that a definition of a pharmaceutical drug is " to have a side effect". What happens if it is the meds that are causing you to take more drugs? This video was super interesting to me as many of my clients come in with diabetes. I have always been a believer that drugs are acute solution, not a long term one. Their is an increased amount of people who have gotten their health back and have been able to decrease their drug dose or get off them completely.
