Your are requested to review the report in preparation for the Annual Congregational Meeting which will take place after service on February 21st. Lenten Sermon Focus: Beginning this Sunday, our sermon series will focus on the epistle to the Romans. You are encouraged to bring your bible to service to follow along. Note: Bible study on Romans will be held on Thursday, February 9th, instead of Ash Wednesday.

Gather with Lutherans from across the Ottawa Ministry Area to mark the beginning of the season of Lent. On Ash Wednesday, February 10th, we will gather at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 400 Sparks Street, Ottawa at 7:30 pm. Free parking at the Queen/Bay lot; please use parking passes available at rear entrance of the church. Wednesday evening Lenten mid-week services will be held at St. Peter's during the Lenten season.

National office staff from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC), Canadian Lutheran World Relief (CLWR) and Lutheran Church-Canada (LCC) are coming together for the first time to bring a Syrian refugee family to Canada. The initiative will pool donations from individual staff members to raise the money needed to support a family for a year. The Canadian Council of Churches offers resources for the January 18-25, 2016, Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. The focus is on the text from 1 Peter 2:9 Called to proclaim the mighty acts of God. The Canadian resources are produced by an ecumenical writing team chaired by ELCIC pastor Susan Climo. National Bishop Susan Johnson has written a letter encouraging all ELCIC individuals and congregations to get involved in the 2016 Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.
