We're getting closer folks! Just back from a short trip to Mexico sharpening up my chicken grillin" skills. The Shack is almost ready in Vernon (waiting for stainless steel counter tops!). Depending on the weather, should be open weekend of March 23!!

I visited Gilmay RV in Vernon yesterday to see the initial progress on the Shack. The interior has been stripped and they're starting work on electrical, insulation, plumbing, etc.. Excited to see this and should have no problems opening as expected (late March/ early April)!! The puppy is helping me search for a new refrigerator online!😀

As you may have noticed, the Shack has been moved from Lions Park. It is now in Vernon where it will be worked on over the winter by Gilmay RV (http://gilmay.ca/rv-services/concession-vehicles/). I am quite confident in their abilities and am anxious to get the process started! Plan is still to open for my 9th season March/April 2018!!

Fire in the Shack early this morning. Fire Dept says fridge is the culprit. Needless to say, season is over. Sorry folks. I do have insurance so depending on how that goes I will back open in the spring! For those who ordered winter shoulders, stay tuned. Check out oliverdailynews.com for more dramatic pics.

Good morning fanatics. Sorry but won't be open today Wednesday September 20. Just can't get the smokers and meat to cooperate. Instead of fighting it all day, I will open tomorrow.

Yes, that's the sun this morning! Lots of smoke in the area from forest fires (and a little from my smokers!) As we've now hit September, there are some changes to the days Hammer's is open. Starting next week, open Wednesday through Sunday (closed Monday-Tuesday). Tentative last day of the season will be Saturday October 7. I will finalize that shortly and will make an announcement regarding Winter Shoulders as well.
