This week we had the special privilege of being part of two incredible fundraisers: First "Come Dine with Me & #hungerfree" In years past we’ve seen the commercials and videos of children impoverished with hit songs tugging at our heart strings asking us to donate. This year World Vision Canada has partnered with Dennis The Prescott in a unique and social event - to encourage you and I to host a Meaningful Meal. In cultures around the world, food is the centre of every celebration. It engages our senses. It brings people together. It sustains us and comforts us. This year World Vision Canada is asking Canadians to host a Meaningful Meal to help support long-term food projects. How? Simply host a dinner party, treat with friends, luncheon or give your annual Thanksgiving meal new meaning. Use your grocery or restaurant bill as a guide of how much you donate and share your photos from your Meaningful Meal on social media with #hungerfree, then encourage someone else to do the same. Treefrog was delighted to partake in this months first kick off Meaningful Meal with Dennis The Prescott. But that’s not all, we will be hosting our own Meaningful Meal later this month on World Food Day Oct 16. Take part & sign up your meal at hungerfree.ca The second incredible event we attended with celebrity dancers Chris Emanuel, Rob Clark, Andrea Prentice-Peterson, Lindsay Strom Brown and more was the Dancing With the Easter Seals Ontario Stars. These 8 dancers raised over $90,000 for Easter Seals Ontario. This is a North American record as the most funds raised by a single fundraising event with Easter Seals. A.J. shared, delighted and inspired us with his own personal stories of how the generous donations and amazing people at Easter Seals have changed his life, providing opportunities that he may otherwise never have been able to experience. We look forward to next years dance-a-thon!
