Town of Greater Napanee
Description
Town Hall 124 John Street, Napanee Ontario K7R 3L4 613-354-3351 www.greaternapanee.com Monday - Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm The Town of Greater Napanee is found within the County of Lennox & Addington in the heart of Eastern Ontario. We are the western gateway to the Land O’ Lakes region, just minutes from Lake Ontario to the south, and near countless lakes and rivers to the north. Within the town’s borders are the smaller communities of Adolphustown, Conway, Dorland, Morven, Roblin, Sandhurst and Selby.
Greater Napanee is home to 15,400 people, and Lennox & Addington County has 40,540 inhabitants, according to the 2006 Census. With access to a population of more than 300,000 within a 30-minute drive, Greater Napanee is the perfect place to live, work, and play.
The community is steeped in historical significance to Canada, and has a unique history that is important to the early development of our country. Since the United Empire Loyalists reached our unexplored shoreline in 1784 with dreams of building a better life, to prosperity found within the borders of present-day Greater Napanee, we are mindful of the past, respectful of how we got here, and embrace the future with open arms.
The community boasts superior year-round recreational amenities, including a multi-pad arena, numerous parkland areas, soccer pitches, ball diamonds etc. Aesthetic improvements to Springside Park in Downtown Napanee in recent years have breathed new life into the green space, including a beautiful 1.2 km waterfront trail. The lighting of the Napanee Falls is a new feature to the park that is a must see to visitors to the community.
