To set the record straight...There has been some malicious ranting about the Days Inn Nanaimo knowingly putting a guest and her family in a room with bed bugs. This is definitely not the case. There had been a problem with bed bugs in that room a few days prior that had been addressed by professionals. We were given the OK to rent the room. Unfortunately, the chemical treatment that the Professionals used turned out to be ineffective and even after going through the room with a fine tooth comb to find nothing, the bugs returned. The room will now be 'Heat Treated', which we have been assured, is the most effective way to eradicate these pests. This room will not be rented out again until we are satisfied that it is free of bugs. We have also been accused of discrimination against our valued First Nations guests. We can assure you that this is just not the case. We welcome all people equally to our hotel and certainly appreciate their business!
