Trinity Port Credit
Description
Trinity Port Credit is an Anglican community of radical inclusion. We don't have all the answers, but we explore the questions with all our hearts. Trinity Port Credit is a gathering of Christ-followers who believe that everyone belongs. We seek to emulate the Jesus who stood up to the religious elite and told them that their exclusion based on gender, age, race, economic circumstances, sexuality, religious affiliation or physical condition, meant that they simply got the God thing wrong. We follow the Christ who called out for justice, radical inclusion and equality for all people. In our broken world where so many suffer, we dare to hope that God continues to reconcile the world by changing us with a hit of divine love that spreads out into the community in our words, decisions and actions. We sing and dance through our beautiful ritual liturgy to be nourished and formed in the wacky, bizarre stories of the Gospel where the least likely, least respected people, like the hookers, the scammers and the street dwellers, recognize God in the person of Jesus. And we try to carry that out with us in al that we do.

Here we are in the middle of Lent, and Jesus gets right into the thing of repentance. Repentance, not as some sort of intense piety or a reaching for moral purity. Rather, repentance as in discovering who we are, and who God is - repentance as an invitation to healing and liberation. This fig tree is intriguing....if the right steps are taken in its lifetime, it will produce beautiful fruit, but if it's neglected, well, no figs! And there's the metaphor for you and me. Repentance - naming what is broken - allows us to shake off the things that are weighing us down. It frees us up to grow into our full potential, and the fruit that we produce will translate into using our natural gifts to create a world of peace, justice and inclusion.

Tomorrow, February 14th, we'll head out to the wilderness to witness what happens when Jesus is faced with questions of power and how he might use it. Luke's gospel will show us how Jesus envisioned his role as the Messiah - how he will focus that power on saving the world rather than edifying himself. Come! Come and see how this story filters down into our daily decisions and actions..... 26 Stavebank Road, just north of the Lakeshore.....10:00 o'clock. Come as you are.
