September Long Aurora

I don't know why but there's no natural event I love to shoot more then the aurora. Saturday evening I drove up to Clear Lake in Riding Mountain National Park and met up with a good friend to shoot the night sky. Lady Aurora was kind and gave us a nice event to capture. The time-lapse turned out nice, and I figured it was worth a share. Enjoy.

Just a small taste of last night. One never truly knows what they'll get when setting up for a aurora shoot. It seems more often then not it's a bust, or a long wait, quick blast then nothing. Last night was crazy. I shot till 1:30, then started driving home with the skies still lit up. A quick stop in Sandy Lake (Image 3), then just outside of Elphinstone (Image 4) rounded out my night out nicely. This is four of 500 images from just one camera....I had another rolling. Today looks like a storm day. Coffee and planning is in the works. What a night.
