It was a perfect day for the Children's Festival - a beautiful day and NO forest fires!! A HUGE thank you to our dedicated volunteer crew who volunteer 8-10 hrs+ of their Canada Day and a HUGE thank you to our sponsors over the years - Community Initiatives Fund (CIF), Conexus, Cable Ronge, the Town of La Ronge Community Services dept., Areva, Cameco, SaskWater, Canadian Heritage, SIGA, the Elk's, Eagle Point, Lakeshore Towing, the Dollar Store, the La Ronge Hotel and Suites and more. The festival would not be possible without them. Happy Canada day!

Volunteer

*** Volunteers are still need or there will be NO bouncy castles this year (this is where most volunteers are need: time kids in and out. A few people for set-up and take down would be great too, only 1 hour).*** Click on "volunteers" on the webpage below for time slots and text 306-420-7660 or fb message me with the shift you want. While there has been over 2000 hits and many shares on the "request for volunteers" post, no one has volunteered for a one hour shift. Sponsors are very generous with their financial support of the festival but the community has to support it as well to continue on. https://larongechildrensfestival.com/volunteer/

Volunteers needed for short, 1 hours shifts for bouncy castles and short, 1 hours shifts for set-up and take down... only 1 measly hour! Why did we ask so soon to the festival? Because, from past experience, no one can commit to helping out on Canada Day anymore than a week in advance, so it's now or never folks! Message us with your volunteer time. Times available are on the website and will be updated as shifts are filled: http://larongechildrensfestival.com/volunteer

A world-traveling magician, a rocket launch and a local jigger and fiddler (Modeste McKenzie and Tristen Durocher), it's going to be another spectacular Children's Festival! And through a Cameco Creative Kids grant, SMVS will also be presenting an "after festival" show from 4-6 showcasing teenage performances of: spoken word, hip hop and poetry. Watch for posters around town too. Happy Canada Day! www.larongechildrensfestival.com (website to be updated shortly!)
