Andrea Soesbergen's CD release party - "Fallen Leaves"

"Fallen Leaves" Official CD launch- Andrea Soesbergen- Jan 28 Come and join us for an evening of thought-provoking lyrics and amazing musicianship as these 2 Valley young people take the stage at Grove Hall. This evening will be in celebration of Andrea's first CD release "Fallen Leaves". She will be treating us to her gentle, smoky jazz/ folk sound as she accompanies herself on guitar and piano/ keyboard. Andrea's signature is her authenticity and truthfulness; however, her music is not maudlin or cliche. Her musical journey of idealistic student donning the mantle of adulthood is irreverent, feisty and totally engaging. Jeremy Robidoux is joining the party as the opening act. Known for his work in Run, Snowball, Run; we will be seeing Jeremy on this evening as his acoustic alter-ego Jerbare. Jeremy's album "Bare with Me" is also being released this month. He will be supported on stage by Dakota Cooke-Paige singing some of his newly released creations.

On the Line Auditions

ON THE LINE: Calling one and all: Audition for an Original Piece of Theater SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4 Actors and Singers- 1pm- 4pm Dancers: 7pm Created in and based on the Chateauguay Valley – and its history Playwright: Patrick Pietrykowski Director: Mark Bye Musical Director: Christopher Pennington Choreographer: Sabrina Robidoux Designer/ Production Stage Manager: Tina Bye The process will be very informal. If you have something to share with the group: a song, a scene, an instrumental piece (we definitely will need a piano player) and any other typical 1920’s/ jazz instruments. If you want to work with a partner- that is fine too! Some guidance in helping choose your material: How to Nail an Audition What do you need to do? Know your Material - Be prepared o Have a small scene or monologue or poem memorized. o Know a piece of music very well that you feel confidant singing/ playing. o Know your choreography. o If you can do something else – juggle, dance, any special talent: be prepared to show it. On the day of the audition be organized and on time. o Make sure you have what you will need with you. (props, music, etc.) o In advance make sure there is a chair, CD player, etc. present at the location if you need them. o Do not explain your monologue before doing it. Remember you are there to show them you deserve the role, not tell them. If you do get lost, get back on track as quickly as possible, skip a bit if you need to. o Do not stop and begin apologizing. o Start from where you left off. Be Confident- Sell Yourself o Directors are looking for someone with charisma, confidence, and stage presence. They want someone who will take directions well and be positive team players. o Music directors are looking for raw vocal talent, a voice quality that can be trained. o Choreographers are looking for someone with rhythm who feels comfortable moving. o NEVER APOLOGIZE!! If you mess-up, don't stop or get flustered. Keep going, the auditioners will likely not notice. They will surely notice if you stop to apologize!!! GOOD LUCK and HAVE FUN
