Hudson has much to be proud of- Just one of many stories that make the history of this small town of 5000 fascinating. Ninety nine years ago today 100,000 young men from Canada stormed up the slopes of Vimy Ridge and took the ridge in a swift well coordinated attack. The British and French armies had failed but the Canadians did it. In just under 3 days we would suffer over 10,000 casualties of which some 3,400+ would be fatal. Lance Corporal Ronald Barlow from Hudson would be one of those killed. His name is the first one on the Hudson cenotaph. Lest we Forget -posted by Rod Hodgson
