The Hornepayne Best Start Hub is a free family resource centre for children and their families to meet and learn. We provide a variety of free drop-in services to families. Children and parents have the opportunity to participate in early learning activities based on the Early Learning Framework and emergent curriculum that follow Ministry of Education guidelines. Families can participate in programs such as circle time, creative activities and literacy programs in addition to exploring the 'wonderful world of play'. We also offer an abundance of resources and information pertaining to parenting, school readiness programs, literacy programs for parents and children, linkages and referrals to children's services, and a Triple P facilitator on site. We definitely offer a place for children and families to meet, learn and have fun!

We have been having so much fun learning about Robins and other birds at the Best Start Hub. We made a big 'human' sized bird nest to play in, play dough bird nests, and paper plate birds. Thank you Chloe Neron for letting us borrow your plastic swimming pool that we used to make our gigantic nest. Sylvie Berube did some research for us and discovered that the size of our big nest is very close to the actual size of an Eagle's nest. Thank you for sharing this information with us Sylvie :)

Over the last couple of weeks we have been learning about spring birds at the Best Start Hub. Yesterday we were so excited to have a special guest join us to share her wonderful knowledge about birds and thier many different bird calls. We also made bird feeders using pinecones. We would like to thank nature enthusiast Caroline Biribauer for making learning so much fun. Thank you Caroline :)

Be sure to join us tomorrow for our exciting morning with Caroline Biribauer. Caroline has informed me that she will be bringing two special birds. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver :)
