facebook.comSt. Andrew’s is making a change to its guest network to support student learning. At this time Chromebooks, carts or laptop carts of 30 are present in classrooms from grades 3 to 12 to support learning activities. With technology readily available in the classroom there is no need for students to bring and use their personal devices to class. These personal devices are a distraction to students learning and have been used inappropriately by some students during class time. Please be aware that effective Monday, March 5th the St. Andrew's Guest network will be available during the first 10 minutes of the morning break, the first 40 minutes of the lunch break, and for 15 minutes after school. We encourage all staff and students to monitor their data usage should you choose to use your personal devices outside of these times.

This weekend our local 4H Club, Coyote Acres 4H club, held their communications event and many St. Andrew's students were strong competitors! Congratulations to SAINT, Gillian Blackhurst, who finished 1st in Jr. Presentations! A big shout out to fellow SAINT, Carley Cox, who as a Cleaver member, does not need to compete, but she stepped up and did an awesome job!! Great job SAINTS!
It was a disappointing weekend for the Jr. Boys Basketball team. The first game they played was against the GP Vanier Friday night which ended in a loss. The Vipers beat the Saints by a score of 47-30. Next, the Saints played the Gift Lake Hurricanes. The Hurricanes came out the victors by a score of 35-29. this loss resulted in the boys being eliminated from the tournament. The boys played well defensively, but a few turnovers and issues in the offensive position cost the boys this weekend. This coming weekend is zones in Fairview, which gives the boys one more time this season to show what they can do. Let's go Jr. Boys!
Just a reminder that Pink Shirt Day is this Wednesday, February 28th! This year's focus is on cyberbullying and the slogan is "Nice Needs No Filter". Please remind your students about the importance of acknowledging Pink Shirt Day and anti-bullying. We hope to see a lot of staff and students wearing pink!
The Jr. High Girls Saints basketball team entered this weekend's Divisional tournament as the prohibitive favorites to take home the banner. Our girls started off with a win against the GP Vanier Vipers on Friday night, Saturday morning pitted them against cross-town rivals Prairie River Raiders where the girls dominated from the opening tip-off defeating the 52-26, when they then awaited the winner of the double knockout schedule to see who they would face in a potential championship game. In the end, it was a rematch against the Raiders and the Saints went on to do what they have done all year, which is WIN! The championship capped off a dominant undefeated season for our girls, the girls showed all year the importance of teamwork and unselfish play, as each girl on the team was more committed to the team and to winning than individual statistics. Congratulations to our Gr. 9 athletes Daisy Porisky, Macey Shaw, Madison Price, Kendyl Backs, and Georgia Boerchers for impressive Jr. high careers and good luck to you in the future as you look to bring your winning attitude to our Sr. High teams. Good luck next weekend in Fairview Zones.
Congratulations to the Sr. Boys Basketball team on their bronze at the Hillside Invitational Tournament this weekend in Valleyview. Great job SAINTS!
