Heartbeat Athletic Therapy
Description
Athletic Therapy is not just for athletes! If you have any injury (joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments) & return to play for concussion, I can help. If you have aches and pains, going in for surgery, coming out of surgery, have an old nagging injury, want to prevent injury, got hurt playing a sport or walking down the street - anything! I will assess and treat you.
If you cannot get to me, I will come to your home. If you do not have insurance for athletic therapy coverage, then I have a form we can send away & if that is rejected, don't fret. I'm in business, but I'm in business to get people better. Let's talk!
Aside from musculoskeletal injuries, I also recognize a huge gap in concussion management. I see kids on sidelines who got a concussion a game or two ago, saw a Dr and they get a note saying "sit out for a week, then you're good to go" essentially. I offer a better and safer way to return to play other than "sitting out for a week" doing nothing then going right back into the swing of things as if the brain was never injured.
A major goal of mine is to spread awareness and education about concussions, especially the recognition of signs/symptoms and management/treatment. I'm trying to encourage young athletes to stand up for themselves and protect their future, as well as speaking to coaches, teachers, and parents. Heartbeat Athletic Therapy is an easily accessible resources for athletes/their parents to seek guidance & treatment for their concussions.
Every concussion is different. From person to person, as well as from concussion to concussion in the same person. We only have one brain and if it is damaged, life can be changed forever. This is why the recognition of signs/symptoms as well as treatment/management is essential for the best outcome when a head injury occurs. If improperly managed and not recognized, an athlete continues playing and may sustain more contact increasing the severity of injury and possibly leading to death.
I offer manual therapy, as well as a safe return to play protocol rehab. I have also done extra research regarding vestibular therapy. I also have various contacts that I use as referrals on an individual case basis, if necessary.
The athlete will be assessed initially and a plan of action will be made after that assessment so the athlete is aware of their recovery process - what they have to do & what we will be doing to safely get them back to the game they love.
My motto is "rehab hard, play harder!" By choosing Heartbeat Athletic Therapy, you are choosing to work with me in YOUR therapy process, whatever it may be. I will do my part, you will do your part, and results will happen! ·
