Neither rain nor cold nor mosquitoes stopped the dedicated conservation team from collecting turtle eggs from the last remaining painted turtle population on the B.C. coast. And now, they are excited to report the first turtles of the season emerging from these eggs! These hatchlings will be cared for through the winter to get a head start before being released next year to suitable habitat. This is species recovery in action! http://bit.ly/2v2QRhd

There is a lot that goes into raising one baby shrike. It costs about $75 for every bird that we raise and release into the wild.
