Princess Margriet and Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven of the Netherlands to pay offical visit to Canada

Goderich is pleased to be welcoming Princess Margriet and Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven of the Netherlands as part of their forthcoming official visit to Canada. Princess Margriet and Professor van Vollenhoven will be in Goderich on the afternoon of Sunday, May 14 to unveil a plaque in Liberation Memorial Park, which is located right in front of the Tourist Centre at 91 Hamilton Street. The plaque will commemorate the Canadian soldiers who lost their lives in the Netherlands during the Second World War. Schedule: 2:00 pm - Static display of vintage World War II Canadian Army Vehicles on Hamilton St. 2:15 pm - Performance by the Celtic Blue Highlanders at Liberation Memorial Park 2:30 pm - Arrival of HRH Princess Margriet of the Netherlands and her husband Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven 2:35 pm - Review of Veteran's Parade along Hamilton Street 2:45 pm - Welcome by Mayor Kevin Morrison 3:00 pm - Unveiling of plaque in Liberation Memorial Park and remarks by HRH Princess Margriet. 3:30 pm - Concert by Royal Regiment of Canada at Trinity Christian Reformed Church.
