Starting next week, the Town of Edson will be maintaining the grass, diamonds, and roads at Vision Park, while the Kinsmen Club will work on upgrading the dugouts and continue with the organization of the annual Slo-pitch tournament on August Long Weekend. Council Notes May 16th, 2017 - RCMP citizen award, Trans Mountain Pipeline, Meeting Dates and more RCMP Citizen Recognition. Council received a presentation from the RCMP as they recognized a local citizen on going above and beyond in assisting at a recent incident. Mr. Allan Fritz was presented with a certificate and a gift for his efforts in assisting local Staff Sergeant Peter King as he was involved in an altercation with suspects while making an arrest in the Hillendale area. Mr. Fritz stepped in to assist during the altercation and also notified 9-1-1, connecting the officer to dispatch to relay important information. Council commended Mr. Fritz for his actions and the RCMP noted this is a great example of how much the public assists the RCMP, not only in dangerous situations like this, but in calling in reports of suspicious activity and other similar actions. http://www.edson.ca/town/town-news/post/30763 Photo (left to right) Staff Sergeant Ron Lyons, Edson Staff Sergeant Peter King, Allan Fritz, Superintendent Lyle Gelinas.
