Retired custodian Velma E. Baker has served as an amazing namesake for one of our elementary schools in southeast Edmonton. She passed away in hospital October 23 after health complications related to diabetes. The school community and CUPE Local 474 will miss her generous spirit and strong leadership. The Board of Trustees held its annual Organizational Board Meeting this afternoon. This is the meeting when the Board determines committee memberships and decides who will be Board Chair and Vice-Chair for the year ahead.
