facebook.comI love Lucie Klaassen and the work she's up to with horses! Which is why I absolutely needed to chat with her on the Whole Horse Podcast - this horse woman carries so much wisdom on so many levels. In this podcast she shares about her latest travels down under, her fascination with the spine, how we can help our horses to use their bodies sustainably and how we can stay balanced in and out of the saddle. Enjoy! Share with your horse loving friends! And head to the page to download or subscribe on iTunes.
Just two days left to join us for an 8-month immersion into all things holistic and horsey! There are currently 3 spaces left! For those sitting on the fence, here are a few reasons that this year is a great one to join in the fun: 1) The group of horse women this year is unprecedented. I'm truly pinching myself. The community built is going to be educational, thought provoking, fun and life changing. 2) The price has stayed the same for the last 3 years, which means next year, it will need to go up, as I keep packing more cool valuable stuff in! 3) Only Apprenticeship participants get to come to the optional 3-day retreat with myself and Breanne Ellison here at Firefly Farm (in the Cowichan Valley). We will be focusing in on the practical, teaching our fave techniques and tools gathered over years of experience doing manual therapy and energy work with horses. 4) Like mine, your horse is not getting any younger (Diva is turning 19 this year!), and now might just feel like the ideal time to focus in and immerse yourself in this partnership that you're deeply curious about. I'm sure there's other stuff but that's all for the moment. If one of these spots is for you, I'd love to work with you this year! xo Alexa (and Diva)
Equine Sport Therapist Breanne Ellison decided to take one of our wonderfully geeky conversations about equine anatomy and body work out of the saddle and onto the Whole Horse Podcast! In this podcast we explore why body work is so important for horses, why the hips and pelvis are such a critical zone, and how we, as our horses’s person, can help. Needless to say, it was hard to stop once we got going. Breanne will be joining me in co-facilitating the 3-day Whole Horse Apprenticeship Retreat this June 8-10th (only available to those taking part in the Whole Horse Apprenticeship). Enjoy!
Yes! 💓

I can’t stop podcasting! It’s just so fun to talk to incredible horse people about cool stuff. Sat down with Breanne Ellison of West Coast Animal Massage for the tip of the iceberg of the body work and manual therapy for horses conversation. We love geeking out on this stuff and it feels pretty awesome to finally record some of the gems that come up in our chats. Stay tuned for the recording!! www.wcanimalmassage.com
We begin the Whole Horse Apprenticeship in one week!! Oh my, this group of horse women is beyond incredible - pinching myself that I have the opportunity to spend the next 8-months in horse-inspired community with each of them! There are only 20 spaces available this year and 15 off them are now fillled. On March 15th (next Thursday) the doors to this 8-month adventure with horses will close until we begin again next year! Is one of the final 5 spots yours? Is this the year to immerse yourself in the exploration of your unique and potent connection with horses? All the details (including registration details and pricing) are at www.alexalinton.com/apprenticeship-2018
The new podcast episode with Equine Behaviour Specialist Michelle Atterby is ready!! I admit to being a beginner when it comes to behaviour science, so we have a great time clarifying the key concepts of this work, learning easy ways to apply it, and opening up some incredible possibilities for more partnership and connection. Definitely inspiring! Tune in here or subscribe on iTunes. Enjoy!
Huge congratulations to Breanne Kerr and Michelle Stewart, this years Whole Horse Apprenticeship Scholarship recipients!! Your applications were inspired and beautiful and I’m honoured to support your important work with horses. Thank you to all who applied! I am feeling incredibly excited to begin this program with such an incredible group of horse women (no men yet, but my fingered are crossed) joining me!
A heartfelt thanks to all 40 of the applicants for the Whole Horse Scholarship!! I am blown away by these applications and am in the process of deliberating (such a difficult choice!) - I will be in touch later on today. xo Alexa
Loving this whole podcast thing! Just had an incredible conversation with Equine Behaviour Specialist Michelle Atterby - learned a ton and busted myths left and right. Stay tuned! This Whole Horse Podcast should be available next Tuesday!
The horse world is changing in powerful ways...want to know how I know? This amazingness right here! 28 incredible horse lovers have already applied for the WHA scholarships. And their applications are bringing tears of joy and busting my heart wide open. How am I ever going to choose??
