The Huge Maple Tree across from the Billiards is slated to be cut down soon. People are gathering to stop the destruction of this historical land mark. This is the most beautiful Maple tree i have ever seen. So if you agree, share your thoughts.

Back from vacation and back to business. Nice to have people waiting at the door for me to open. Thanks. Well I have some very very sad news to share, I attended a funeral on the 21st for a well respected not to mention full of honor, dedication, laughter, wisdom, and the love for other people to guide on this journey of life. Hereditary Chief Edward Cyril Livingston, better known as Ed. From The People Of The Lake, (Lake Cowichan Band). It has come as a shock to us all. When he would walk in the door i would say, Mr Livingston I presume and he would answer John my good man how are you today. Damm i'm going to miss hearing that. I put in alot of hours of pool with Ed like his wife Georgina said to me he spent so much time at James st billiards he should be part owner. And she is wright. Table #6 is Ed's table and always will be. Well Today will be the hardest to get through but there is all kinds of support here thanks to all. Please come have some fun soon. Eds laughter will always fill this room. Rest in peace Ed. born sept 3 1949-May17th 2016.

Two more sleeps till I can enjoy an 8 day break. Golfing Sailing drinking and eating good is the plan. Not necessarily in that order. Just a Heads up. I will be taking my Holiday as of May 16th to the 23rd, so I will be Closed for 6 business days so I can regroup after another busy and amazing winter. Thanks to all the support form all ages to keep us here 7yrs and going strong. I will be refreshed and well rested up to serve you's better then any other experience you will have in this great place we call home (Duncan). Summer league starts June 16th so come sign up on a team for Thurs night in-house fun. New menu items include the best Poutine around as well as Coney Island Chili Sauce witch compliments a Hot Dog or some chili cheese fries, Ummmmm Sounds good eh, well I've been told everything on my menu is fantastic. So come try for yourself. I take pride in the service as well as cooking every meal to perfection. Well another Great Thursday Night In House League has come to an end, and I would like to thank everyone who was involved and all the spares that filled in on the teams that were sort a player. S ign up now for a summer 10 week league In house, starts June 16th and runs to August 18th. First six teams with 5 players per team. And a huge thanks to Shelby and Jessy for providing the best service and always with a smile, could not do this without you ladies. Looking forward to September Winter League registration due by August 18th 2016. Celebrating 7yrs and 2 days since I took over here and made this place some where that all ages could enjoy and spend quality time with friends and family, parents spending time with there children and kids staying in touch with social interaction and good old fashion hands on Fun. Many Many thanks for all the support from everyone that has passed through my doors in the last six years. Cheers and hope to see new and familiar faces for a hole lot of years to come. I have had a greatest challenge of my life not failing at an attempt to be in control of my own destiny and dreams of success. And here I am, but it would not have happened without the help and support of my two sons T.J. and Christopher through the 96hrs a week we were putting in does not leave much time to have a life outside of work. But thanks for sticking it out with me BOYS. As well as all the help from many friends along the way. So Thank You Thank You Thank You for all that believed especially my beloved Mother Barbara, God Rest Her Sole. I would like to thank John Schmidt a World Class Professional Pool Player, for taking the time out of his busy schedule to stop in at James Street Billiards on Thursday March 3rd to play at set of 9-Ball with one of our own local Master Pool Players Mike Harry. I was in Aw the whole time you's were playing and felt honored to have the presence of two guys that have the passion and talent to make it look so easy. Also thanks for taking some extra time for taking pictures with some of my international students and costumers as well as giving a little clinic. If anyone would like to check out utube and see John in action at the US Open 9-Ball Championship as well as the Masters and he also Better knowin as Mr 400 in Striaght pool, i suggest you do.
