Alexa Dow, 10, also won the 2017 BC Provincial Junior Track and Field Championships for both the 1000m and the 600m and was undefeated in both events both on the island and in Vancouver for the entire season. The Bench Elementary School student is one dynamic athlete. Alexa also runs cross-country and won the BC Cross Country Provincial Championships two years in a row—2016 in Nanaimo and 2017 in Abbotsford. She also won the 2016 and 2017 BC Athletics Lower Mainland Cross Country series. Look out for this young star to continue to mount the podium as she also competes in field events including javelin, shot put, high jump and long jump.
