The Town of Drayton Valley was incorporated in 1957 and has a population of about 7,000. Drayton Valley is located about 90 minutes southwest of Edmonton and is best known as a centre for the oil and gas industry. Forestry and agriculture also play an important part in the local economy.
As the main service centre for the surrounding area Drayton Valley boasts a range of facilities, shops and restaurants usually found in larger centres.

The Town of Drayton Valley received a $117,525 grant from the Government of Alberta through the Community and Regional Economic Support (CARES) program! Mayor Glenn McLean attended the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce Mayor’s Address Luncheon today where the announcement was made by Minister of Municipal Affairs, Shaye Anderson. If residents notice any discoloration, run your taps until the water flows clear. There will be an open excavation all day in preparation for the 4:00 pm shut off that will be barricaded and identified. Residents are advised to stay away from the excavation and any hazards it may pose.
