Our new pub will soon be opening and you could be sitting here overlooking the town of Digby, watching the ferry come in, the world famous scallop and lobster fleet, unbelievable sunsets. Stay tuned for the name of our new pub and pictures of Jana's menu that will give you foodgasims over and over again. You are all welcome. You don't have to be a guest to come and enjoy what we have to offer. We will be having entertainment, drinks by a bonfire. And much much more.

Myself and the owners would like to announce our Chef to you Jana Darbyson. We are very excited and feel fortunate to have her join our team and look forward to the wonderful foodgasms you are going to have when you experience her dishes. Here is a little about Jana and her family. Welcome Jana!!!! Jana Darbyson is the new chef at The Villages of Mountain Gap Resort. She has the hands and mind of an artist and this is fully shown in her passion, innovation and creativity with cooking and indeed, other crafts as well such as leatherworking and costume making. Jana believes her love for cooking and growing food is deeply, rooted as a passion for gardening runs in her family and so it came as no surprise to friends and family when she decided to become involved in the culinary field in professional kitchens nearly 17 years ago. Her love for cooking is never more evident than when she is creating food for her family and friends. To Jana, there is nothing better than having the people she loves standing around the kitchen island laden with amazing dishes she has prepared, frequently using her own organic home-grown vegetables, fruits and preserves. Her thanks for hours of planning and preparation is the smiling faces of her guests. As a mother, wife, gardener and chef, it speaks volumes that Jana also found time to volunteer at Fundy YMCA. She taught kids about healthy eating, providing demos on quick and easy make at home healthy snacks. For the past 9 seasons Jana ran the Garde Manager Department at the Digby Pines. Aside from her job as head of Garde Manager, she has also worked with students from the Culinary Arts Co-op placement program – a paid work term preparing students for the advanced studies of their second year. She obviously loves teaching and inspiring the students, not only academically but personally as well. Jana is a life-long learner and feels that teaching in the kitchen keeps her on her toes and young at heart. This also gives her the opportunity to be creative with a variety of different students. Each student is unique and has individual strengths. She and her team worked on bringing that to light. Ultimately Jana feels that when you are passionate about something you love, it will always shine through. .

Well folks a lot of you have been asking if we are going to open food service here on the property. We are touched by the comments about how wonderful it was to come and eat here years ago. So yes we are!!!! Our new pub and bar will feature a menu fit for all ages and you are all invited to come and enjoy our food or a drink anytime throughout the season. Stay tuned for pictures soon.
