Last night was a night to go down in history, as the Dundas County Agricultural Hall of Fame was started with it's initial inductees at the Dundas Farmers Charity Gala held in Winchester. There were five individuals receiving honours this year, one of which was our nominee - Marilyn Johnson. Although Marilyn is no longer with us, she has touched so many of us and has set a fine example of volunteerism. Almost from the time of moving into the area in 1973, Marilyn had been involved with the Agricultural Society. From being a volunteer to becoming a mentor, her legacy will live on through those who knew her and through the works that she had been involved in both within and outside of our Society. We are also honoured to have one of our Directors also included among the 5 honourees - Gordon Johnson. Gord was nominated by the Dundas Milk Producers for the work he has done with them and on the provincial level as a Board member of the Dairy Farmers of Ontario. He has been involved in so many different things over the years, and will do so for many years to come. Thank you for choosing to be a part of the Chesterville and District Agricultural Society Gord! We congratulate the others being inducted - Alvin Runnalls (passed away last year), Martin Schneckenburger, and Norm TInkler. Thanks also go out to the Dundas Federation of Agriculture and Jackie Pemberton (DFA past president) for spearheading this project.

Today is the day - the draw for the Glass Shamrock happens at the Chesterville Legion tonight at 7pm!! You can still purchase tickets at MacEwen in Chesterville, up until 6pm tonight.
