Parging: is commonly used at the bottom of a brick wall to protect the most vulnerable part of a building from water and snow. This is accomplished by applying a special type of cement to create a smooth flat surface.

Waterproofing: Water ingress is hugely problematic for brick and over time due to freeze thaw action, heating and contraction Ultra Violet ageing from the sun, salt ingress, the brick will slowly and imperceptibly disintegrate, especially in our Canadian environment.
