Barrhead Composite High School is a grade 7 to 12 school and is  located in Barrhead Alberta Canada. This is the official Barrhead Composite High School account to keep students, parents and friends up to date with the happenings around our school.

Barrhead Composite High School has both academic and vocational programs.  

For vocational students we have cosmetology, food studies, information processing, graphics, fabrication, automotive and construction labs.  Our students compete in the provincial skills competitions and have won many medals at the provincial and the national level.

For athletic students we have many extra-curricular offerings.  The Jaguars are the junior high teams and the Gryphons are the senior high teams.  We offer volleyball, golf and cross country starting in September;  basketball starts in November; badminton and track start in April.  Our teams have won many zone banners and provincial medals.

BCHS is a busy school that has courses and activities for all students.

Mount Royal is now offering a four-year Bachelor of Science with a new major in Chemistry for the Fall 2018 Semester. Mount Royal University Mount Royal’s Chemistry major will allow students to gain a deeper understanding of the molecular processes behind the machinery of life. Students will have the opportunity to enjoy kinaesthetic learning, to get into the laboratory, and to see how chemistry is practiced in the community. Students will learn how to design materials and pharmaceuticals that improve the quality of life for people throughout the world. Chemistry is all this and more. The new Bachelor of Science – Chemistry major will have the same specific admission course requirements as all other majors within the Bachelor of Science. English Language Arts 30-1, Mathematics 30 – 1, Chemistry 30, all need 60% minimum. Admission is still competitive and all MRU general admission requirements must be met. Jr. High Badminton Try-outs All try-outs start at 3:30 and end at approximately 5:00 pm Grade 7 Boys & Girls March 20, 21, 22 Grade 8 Boys & Girls March 12, 13 Grade 9 Boys & Girls March 15, 19 There will be an open gym badminton practice for Grade 7’s on Wednesday March 7th. You do not have to attend this practice to try out for the team.
