SPIUS Established Cooperation with the Student Government of Texas A&M University

The cooperation includes potential student and professor exchanges, especially during the summer, but also lectures on Srebrenica Genocide at the Texas A&M University which will be supported by SPIUS. Mr. Spaulding offered a help to SPIUS in the form of administrative procedures, organisation, structure and more. The administrations of both organisations are going to stay in touch in the following months.

IUS in Cooperation with International Festival Sarajevo Winter

IUS in Cooperation with International Festival Sarajevo Winter On January 10, 2016, Director of the festival Sarajevo Winter, Mr. Ibrahim Spahić, visited IUS. The director was welcomed by IUS Rector Prof. Dr. Tahsin Erkan Türe, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Bal, Head of Department of Arts Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lejla Panjeta, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meliha Teparić, and designer Mustafa Furkan Hızır, expert in practice. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the possibilities for cooperation between the IUS and 33rd Sarajevo Winter festival, which will be held from February 7 to March 21, 2017. The IUS Rector and the representatives of the Department of Arts offered their support for several festival events in fields of animation, film, visual arts and literature. The IUS representatives especially emphasized the possibilities for student participation in the festival program and organization. As course assignment, Graphic Design students of the Department of Arts will take part in a poster competition titled „Silk Road“, which is also the motto of the festival for this year. This exhibition of posters of IUS students will be thus a part of the Sarajevo Winter program presented in IUS gallery under the suprevision of course holders and members of the jury for the competition: Amer Mrzljak, Branko Vekić, M. Furkan Hızır, Emir Hambo and Merisa Bašić. IUS will actively participate in the visual arts, literature, performing and film programs of the festival, both in organisation, and proposing ideas, as well as works of art of our authors as participants in those fields of arts. The selector for the film program is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lejla Panjeta, while Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meliha Teparić and Assit. Prof. Nermina Zildžo are curating visual arts. At the end of the visit, IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Tahsin Erkan Türe said “I thank you for the good cooperation which our institutions made so far. I hope that, together, we will create spectacular events in the future.“
