Kunstenaar Gert Adriaenssens en buurtontwikkelaar Matexi slaan de handen in elkaar en brengen op donderdag 7 september het iconische kunstwerk Office Baroque van de Amerikaanse kunstenaar Gordon Matta-Clark opnieuw tot leven in Antwerp Tower. De Antwerpse wolkenkrabber naast het Centraal station werd vorig jaar een populaire pleisterplek met pop-ups Bar Gloed, Club Goud en enkele tijdelijke kunstinitiatieven. In september wordt het gebouw volledig gestript en bouwklaar gemaakt voor een mix van appartementen, handelszaken en kantoren. Ideaal moment voor een laatste kunstingreep, aldus kunstenaar Gert Adriaenssens, die met ‘Happy Birthday Gordon!’ niet alleen een hommage brengt aan de wereldberoemde kustenaar-architect, maar met dit werk aantoont dat kunst en stadsontwikkeling perfect hand in hand kunnen gaan. Buurtbewoners en voorbijgangers zullen de hommage aan Gordon Matta-Clark in Antwerp Tower volop kunnen bewonderen tussen 7 en 19 september. De initiatiefnemers nodigen iedereen uit om foto's te posten met hashtag #AntwerpTower.

Gentle Reminder: Tomorrow opening Ode de Kort @ Panache Towers!

We are excited to present the work of Ode de Kort during the upcoming Antwerp Art Weekend! Exercise, play and repetition are central to the work of Ode de Kort (º1992). She investigates the relation between object, camera and subject by iteratively positioning materials in various constellations. By repeating these movements, some sort of choreography of subtle shifts in relationships develops, providing de Kort with a deeper understanding of the image – a kind of tactile knowledge. In the exhibition O froooom O toooo O, previously on display at SpazioA (Pistoia, Italy), the circle is the point of departure for a game of spatial transformations and semantic echoes, in which the spectator is invited to look and look again and again... Opening Kasper Andreasen P A N E L S

Kasper Andreasen (DK) lives and works in Antwerp and Berlin. His work encompasses drawing, writing, and printed matter with an emphasis on mapping, indexing, and archiving. In 2010, he completed the permanent installation and the book project Land Route which can be seen at the Museum of Literature in The Hague. He has worked on numerous artist’s books, among others, the drawing atlas Writing Over (Roma Publications) and the painted short story Forest Gate (1001 publishers). We simply fell in love with his work and are proud to present the series P/A/N/E/L/S at Panache Towers. Come and see and meet the artist Sunday 22nd January 3 - 7 pm!
