facebook.comWe've now had a wonderful week of lectures and a workshop with the amazing Lilian Bryan. With her more than 50 years of experience of teaching and training we have once again learned more for our work with this most important age group :)
We are looking forward to welcoming Lilian Bryan back to The Children's House this October. She is a very experienced AMI Montessori teacher trainer who is originally from Austria but has been living in the United States and training Montessori teachers all around the world. Lilian will offer clear insights into the Montessori study of Geography for children ages 3-6 years and with her inspiring words and presentations will take participants on an exciting journey around the world. The Geography experiences we offer to the young children will introduce them to the various cultures and people around the world, instilling in them admiration and respect for the marvelous differences within our human family. Children learn geographic locations and their names with the greatest ease, provided all is presented in the correct manner and timing. Lilian will also instruct participants in the preparation of Geography materials with descriptive hand-outs. Don’t miss this opportunity to refresh yourself, your classroom and your children with new enthusiasm for this meaningful aspect of Montessori education for the young. Please contact us at workshop@montessori-vienna.at for further information and prices. We only have a limited amount of places available, these will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis.
Thank you to all our friends! We now have 1000 likes for our Facebook page :-)😍 We've been spending this week getting everything ready for the new school year starting on Monday. We're looking forward to getting to know our new children, and seeing the returning ones again soon too!
It's nice when you have an unannounced official inspection by the authorities and they leave saying: "This place is really great. This truly is an educational institution..."

Toddler Discipline That Works (It's About Our Attitude)
Redefine quality time The way I see it, parents have to wear two hats: a party hat and a professional hat. When we’re wearing our party hat we’re enjoying our kids, feeling connected, loving and fun. It’s easy to recognize this as quality time. Wearing the professional hat is not so much fun, but it does not have to be excruciating either. I implore the parents I work with to re-imagine ‘quality time’ to include those moments when we are calmly, but assuredly facing our child’s resistance to his or her bedtime routine; firmly preventing our baby from hitting the dog; or patiently removing our children from situations when they’ve lost all control so they can meltdown safely in our presence.
