Its an absolutely beautiful day in Caloundra and Kings beach. Andrew is out in the van and just dropped of lots of fresh bread at Frocals, Greenhouse Cafe and Beaus cafe. All these great local cafes can give you a great coffee fix too, what are you waiting for Caloundra ,,,!!!

Exciting news for all our wonderful customers and lovers of real Sourdough. We are now selling Australia's best bread at White's IGA Group Mt coolum Store. You may need to get in early as it was selling as soon as I put it on our (home made) rack 😀

Dishes that you can prep before dinner are always great as it gives you more time with your guests. This if it's done right is one of the best. You will need 8 egg yolks 175g caster sugar 1 vanilla pod or a teaspoon of good vanilla paste 300 ml cream 300 ml milk 1.5 loafs walters white sliced bread 150g sultanas Butter Put the vanilla, milk and cream into a pan and bring to the boil. Whisk the yolks and sugar together. Pour the milk onto the egg mixture (through a sieve if you used a pod) whisk together, this is your custard Cut the crusts off the bread, butter one side and make two layers in a buttered dish. Sprinkle the sultanas between the two layers Pour the custard over the bread and allow to rest. All this is done before dinner. As you serve main course put the pudding into a water bath and bake at 180c for 30 mins Take out of oven and put lots of sugar over the top. Put under the grill and caramelize the sugar. Serve with ice cream. If you get it right the bottom will ooze with custard and the top will be crunchy like a brulè. For a nice twist you can use our fruit loaf instead of the white sliced. Buy good ingredients So many people fail at this dish because they use cheap ingredients
