Strive for Excellence Woolooware High School is a high performing coeducational and comprehensive public school in the Sutherland Shire that offers quality education for young people that ensures their success in the future.
There are approximately 1066 students representing a range of abilities and talents. Together, they create a safe and supportive school environment through their positive interactions with staff and each other. There is a genuine desire for students to embrace the wide range of opportunities available to them in student leadership, social justice initiatives, sporting programs, as well as the creative and performing arts.
The school also nurtures strong links with the local community, particularly through the learning alliance with local public schools, as well as community leaders and organisations.

facebook.comParents, carers and family are invited to join us on Wednesday, 13 December for our annual Presentation Day. The ceremony commences at 11.00am and will be held in the school hall. Presentation Day rehearsal will take place tomorrow (Tuesday) periods 3 and 4 for all students receiving awards.
Year 9 Tops excursion bus update- one of the buses is running late. Half the students will be back at school just after 5pm. The other half on the late bus will be late back to school. Those students will message parents to let them know.
Congratulations to Harry Came of Year 10 who placed 4th in the State at the NSW Open Water Championships. Harry swam a massive 3.5 minute PB in the 7.5km race. Well done Harry!

Congratulations to our U15 KO Boys’ Water Polo who competed in the State Championships in Raymond Terrace. The boys had three games on the day and had to come in the top two positions to be in medal contention. The boys defeated Bulli High convincingly 10-1 and narrowly defeated Lamberton High 5-4. Unfortunately, the boys lost their third game against Tuggerah Lakes HS 6-3 despite dominating possession. The boys took the defeat well and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship. Overall WHS placed an amazing 5th in the state. Thank you to Ms Hennessy and all the parents that made the trip to support our team, especially Mrs Pritchard and Mr Porteous. The team consisted of Josh Pritchard (10), Zac McMartin (9), Brayden Johnston (9), Caleb Bonney (8), Will Banister (8), Jax Brown (8), Riley Porteous (8), Ben Pritchard (7) and Tristen Phillips (7).

Yesterday our Year 7 2018 Year Advisers Miss Stevens and Mr Donaghy met our incoming Year 6 students at Orientation Day. There was a lot of excitement as the students got to know their Year 9 Peer Support leaders and enjoyed a BBQ lunch with new friends. We look forward to welcoming them to our school next year.
Year 12 Visual Art students Maddison Grounds and Georgia Holden have had their bodies of work selected for ARTEXPRESS, an annual series of exhibitions of exemplary HSC artworks. Maddison's work will be exhibited at the Art Gallery of NSW and Georgia's work will be exhibited at Hazelhurst. Congratulations girls- it is a huge honour to be selected for this exhibition.
Our choir and dance students visited Chesalon at Jannali this morning. Thank you to the lovely residents for hosting us.
Year 11 Geography took a walk through the muddy mangroves at Towra Point as part of their ecosystems at risk unit.
