YEAR 12 VISUAL ARTS Year 12 Visual Art Developmental Folio works. All works are student ideas generated in response to the Concept 'Communal' and lead into proposed resolved artworks that are currently under production in the Year 12 Visual Art class.

NAPLAN Update As you may be aware, an announcement has been made by the Education Minister Kate Jones for Queensland state schools to delay the implementation of NAPLAN Online. Our students will continue to undertake NAPLAN, in a paper-based format in 2017, as we have done in previous years. We understand that the Minister has made this decision to put the best interests of our students first. NAPLAN will continue to be a point in time assessment that gives us information on how our students are doing with essential literacy and numeracy skills.

STEM Girl Power Camp The STEM Girl Power Camp was held in March 2017 during the World Science Festival Brisbane. Sixty high achieving Year 10 girls from around Queensland travelled to Brisbane to participate in a range of events including World Science Festival activities. One of our students, Annaleise Krause was selected to participate. Annaleise had the opportunity to participate in a SPARQ-ed lab experience, a range of World Science Festival sessions and to network with scientists at the University of Queensland Diamantina Institute. Throughout the remainder of the year, Annaleise will act as an ambassador in our school to encourage others to participate in STEM.

Year 7 Performance In Drama, students develop their dramatic skills (for example focus, language and movement) using a variety of Theatre Sports and Drama Games. Here, the Year 7 Performance class demonstrate the game "Postcards", where they create a freeze frame of a particular scenario, in this case 'the park'. Can you spot the dogs, the man reading the paper on the park bench and even the basketball?
