Mighty Quinn into Hall of Fame
COLLEEN QUINN - HA HALL OF FAME Colleen Quinn OAM, Novocastrian and Australian hockey legend, was yesterday inducted into the Hockey Australia Hall of Fame in a special ceremony in her hometown. An Australian representative from 1959 to 1971, a NSW and Australian Coach and a strong advocate of our sport, Colleen Quinn is a household name in hockey and this recognition is well deserved. Congratulate her yourself in the comments below - certainly a very proud moment for hockey in the blues state.
Juniors rub shoulders with Olympians
How good is this? A selection of National representatives including Mark Knowles, Dylan Wotherspoon and Jodie Kenny visited Lismore in NSW's northeast last Sunday. Offering a masterclass with a fun twist, we're sure they inspired plenty of young players and it's great to see Clint Mallett and the crew at Far North Coast pull it all together. INTRODUCING THE JOEY BALL Hockey NSW, in collaboration with Kookaburra Hockey, are proud to announce the Joey Ball - a softer, safer alternative for young players that doesn't sacrifice any of the fundamentals of the hockey ball we know and love. You can head to page 73 of today's The Sunday Telegraph to get all the details or read up on it all via our press release below. The ball will be used at the inaugural Kookaburra 8s Carnivals For Under 11s in April next year, with Hockey NSW and Kookaburra working on a distribution strategy for early next year now.
