In recognition of our school’s 50th year the Sisters of Mercy, Parramatta have proudly established the Sr Patricia Linder Visual Arts Scholarship. Sr Patricia Linder entered the Sisters of Mercy, Parramatta in 1952. She was a member of the staff at Catherine McAuley, Westmead from 1978 to 1980. This scholarship recognises Sr Patricia’s talent and passion for Visual Art. The scholarship will be awarded annually to the Year 11 student who has achieved excellence in the study of Visual Art and will cover tuition for the recipient for their Year 12 schooling. Congratulations to the inaugural winner of the Sr Patricia Linder Visual Arts Scholarship for 2016 - Bianca L.

Congratulations to the Junior Water Polo Team for Term 4. They were undefeated throughout the whole season and dominated the competition. The team scored a total of 92 goals For and 7 Against.

Congratulations to Year 12 Visual Arts student Mary who had her HSC Body of Work titled ‘Loud Places’ selected for inclusion in Artexpress 2017. Mary will have her work on display at Hazelhurst Regional Gallery & Arts Centre early in the new year. A special mention also to fellow student Sarah who had her work ‘Identity Crisis’ shortlisted for Artexpress 2017. Although her work was not selected for final inclusion we congratulate Sarah for this wonderful achievement.

Congratulations to Gabriella, Year 10, who was the recipient this year of the ‘School Liaison Police Ethical Student Award’. ETHICAL is an acronym for: Excellence, Trust, Honour, Impartiality, Commitment, Accountability and Leadership which are the core values of the New South Wales Police Force. Gabriella was chosen for the award as she is a student who has applied the ETHICAL values to her school work and to our school community. The Ethical Student Award was established last year by our School Liaison Police Officer, Senior Constable Dakic, and he attended the school assembly last week to present Gabriella with her award.

The Years 7-11 Awards Ceremony was held today Monday, 12th December in the Morley Centre. Congratulations to all students who received awards and to all students for their hard work this year. Photos below show the recipients of the special awards including the Ambassador for Catherine McAuley in each Year Group.

School Interviews

The Years 7-10 Parent Teacher Interviews will take place on Wednesday, 14th December 2016 between 8.30am - 11.30am. Parents are requested to book an interview time with each of the teachers who they would like to meet. Bookings can be made via the link below from Monday, 5th December until Tuesday, 13th December 2016.
