Tom's happy face, at completion of a very long feeding trial aimed at better understanding omega-3 metabolism in Atlantic salmon. Wondering if he still has that smile now that the action moved into the lab, with few thousands samples of various tissues to be prepared and analysed. Keep up with the great work Tom!

Brief pangasius 'propaganda' panic indicative of industry’s vulnerability « Global Aquaculture Alliance
Very interesting reading from GAA: "Brief pangasius ‘propaganda’ panic indicative of industry’s vulnerability" Groupe Carrefour said its decision had nothing to do with the quality of the pangasius it had been selling, which was “above suspicion.” Instead, it was concerned that “the impact of the aquaculture of this fish on its environment does not manage to be under control.” Specifically, the company highlighted pollution of the Mekong River water by fish defecation and feed residues. If Carrefour were to stop the sales of all food which negatively impacts the environment, they should begin with the sale of beef, since cattle is a proven major source of carbon dioxide, as well as pork, since industrial pig farms are also proven polluters of rivers and coastal waters. https://www.aquaculturealliance.org/advocate/brief-pangasius-propaganda-panic-indicative-industrys-vulnerability/
