Today's listing is; THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS By Kenneth Grahame With drawings and 8 plates in full colour by Ernest H. Shepard, maps on endpapers, original green cloth boards, a very good copy. $20 + $8 postage First published 8th October 1908, this edition is a 1969 reprint online at simperbookbinders.com.au or in my book stall on the upper level at The Fletcher Jones Market in Warrnambool If you are coming to the Warrnambool this weekend there will be a live blues band from 12 - 3 pm on Sunday the 18th December in the Fletcher Jones Gardens.

ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT, Published August 1929, the same year as the first edition, a very good copy with the scarce dust jacket, although the jacket shows minor wear on the corners it is in very good condition and is now protected in a loose fitted cover. $65 + postage of $8

I haven't posted for a while, so I thought I would post a couple of special books, The first one being; A CHINESE BIOGRAPHICAL DICTIONARY by Herbert A. Giles published in Taipei, 1968 with 1022 pages Bound in gold coloured silk covered boards with title on the front and spine in black with a red device, a very good copy. $100 The second being; CHURCH OF ENGLAND GRAMMAR SCHOOL, GEELONG. History and Register, Jubilee, 1907 Printed by Mercer and Co. , Malop Street. 1907, pages are not numbered, illustrated, blue cloth binding with school crest on front cover in gilt and title in gilt on spine. Today we have a nice children's book from circa 1935 OUR ANIMAL FRIENDS By Harry Golding with 24 full page colour plates by Maragret W. Tarrant From "The Sunshine Series" of children's books , not dated but circa 1935, with 176 pgs, 24 colour plates (not 16 as in some volumes) , green cloth spine with pictorial papered boards, slight wear to bottom edge of boards, corners bumped, overall a nice copy. Here is nice copy of KIDNAPPED Being The Memoirs Of The Adventures Of David Balfour In The Year 1751 by Robert Louis Stevenson Humphrey Milford/Oxford University Press, London, 1930. First edition of this particular printing with illustrations by Rowland Hilder. Contains 12 HAND-TIPPED COLOR PLATES and a fold-out map of David Balfour's wanderings. 240 X 170mm with 290 pages. Dustjacket has some minor damage on the top of the spine with a small piece missing, has a gift inscription dated 3/12/45. Today's offering is a beautiful Calendar for the year 1899, consists of 6 leaves with chromolithograph printing, it measures 160 x 110mm. Originally hinged at the top with 2 ribbons, where one piece of ribbon is missing and the other is fragile. Hard to find these in such good condition, it is after all 117 years old. $65 posted

Today we are offering TARANTULA by Bob Dylan Bob Dylan's first book, (only Book?) first edition, 1971, first printing, dustjacket has minor wear to spine end and bottom corners, previous owners name on front endpaper in small print, otherwise a very good copy in very good dustjacket. I love the pictorial cover on the book I am listing today. It is an early copy of Uncle Remus, or Mr. Fox, Mr. Rabbit, and Mr. Terrapin by Joel Chandler Harris With full page illustrations by J. A. Shepherd in colour and black & white and b/w illustrations in the text, pictorial green cloth covers, minor foxing on last page, with xxxii, 288 pages a very good copy.
