Liber8 Church
Description
Service Time: 10am Sundays
3 Jamieson Street Warrnambool
www.liber8church.org.au We want to see people come into freedom in Christ, being able to rest from their own works by putting their trust in what Jesus did on the cross.
Adam and Wendy Spencer have been in ministry since the late 1990’s, running youth groups and bible studies.
They became pastors of the Christian Outreach Centre in Geelong in 2007. During this time, they gained a deep appreciation of God’s Grace, His unconditional love and life in the New Covenant.
Adam and Wendy accepted God’s call to return to Warrnambool in 2011, armed with God’s love and grace. It is their passion to see people come into freedom in Christ, being able to rest from their own works by putting their trust in what Jesus did on the cross, and realising their true identity as dearly loved children of God.
We are now new creations who have a new identity, which is in the image of Christ. Faith accesses this new life and new identity. We now live out of the righteousness of Christ, the faith of Christ and the wisdom of Christ. We are people of action and by remaining focused on Christ we are salt and light in the world.
We Value
• Furthering God’s Kingdom through the good news of the Gospel.
• Empowering people to be effective disciples of Christ.
• Generously serving each other and our community.
• Equipping leaders to be fruitful, strong and skilled.
We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.
We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.
We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory over every sin, sickness and limitation and empower us for life and life to the full.
We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the ‘new birth’ we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, confess our belief in Him and submit to His will for our lives.
We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be baptised in water and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us to walk in the fruits of the spirit and use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues, which is the initial evidence of baptism in the Holy Spirit. We believe the gifts are for every believer.
We believe that God has individually equipped us so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives which is to worship God, fulfil our role in the Church and serve the community in which we live.
