It's hard to believe that there is 24 hours in every day, sometimes it feels like you've just gotten out of bed and then before you know it it's time to go back to bed!!! So you'd like to go to that exercise class and you'd love to get started on a plan to exercise but you seem to barely have time to scratch yourself let alone drag your arse through a bootcamp!! What I've found as I've gone along is that the weeks I get the most out of are the weeks I have planned ahead.. so Sunday nights after the kids have gone to bed the washings done the house is semi clean school clothes and lunches are organised I sit myself done and write a schedule for the week and in that time I schedule a time for exercise just as I would a doctors appointment I make sure that the time I plan for exercise is time that won't interfere with other responsibilities as I also schedule time for all these things as well!!! To help stay on track I will sometimes set an alarm on my phone to remind me... if it's a morning session I will lay out my exercise gear the night before..... Now it's up to you!!! Prioritise your health and aim to achieve your goals!!! Be consistent and most importantly enjoy the ride.
I slipped up.....again For those of you who have only known me for a little while... about 2 years ago I hurt my shoulder it caused me quite a bit of pain and there was a lot I couldn't do and although there was a lot I could do I gave into the pain and gave up (for awhile anyway) so it wasn't just my shoulder in pain I felt depressed defeated and I sucked at living by my values.... all this continued until well after I had the surgery to 'fix' my shoulder but my struggle to get back to my previous fitness was going to prove a little harder then I had hoped.... but I'm most of the way there I've changed but in a good way I'm confident, I'm strong and I'm capable!! So when my knee started to hurt a little (sometimes a lot) I decided to head to the doctors before it got to bad only to find out I have a nasty split in my cartilidge that probably can't be fixed without a knee replacement soooo this is where I slipped up a little my old self came back and tried to tell me I should just give up what's the use ??? But I'm not giving up I will stay strong confident and awesome!!! There are many ways to work around injuries without causing more injury so that's what I'm going to do!!! Don't let the slip ups ruin your destiny- live and learn from them get up dust yourself off and be awesome !!!

When I started on my fitness journey almost 9 years ago I didn't hire a Personal Trainer or join a gym. The reason wasn't because I didn't have time or money or motivation it was because I was scared. I had been to 3 different Personal Trainers in the past each of them was well trained and professional. They all had access to fantastic facilities and they were all great at their job. Sadly though I just couldn't click with any of them. I couldn't relate to them. none had been where I was, none were mothers and none of them seemed too concerned weather I achieved my goals or not. I'm not saying that every other Personal Trainer is the same as the ones I went to, there are some amazing Personal Trainers out there it is truly awesome how much choice we have now. What I want you to know is what I can personally offer as your Personal Trainer and how I am different to other Personal Trainers. - I am a mum first and foremost. - I still struggle with my own demons from time to time but I get back up and get through each day stronger and the lessons I've learnt I want to share with you so you know you are never alone. - I don't believe you have to be a certain size to be happy with your body. - I believe you can be fit and healthy no matter your size, age, where you live or how much money you make. - I believe that everyone is worthy of feeling fit, healthy and beautiful. Like I said before I in no way shape or form have any disrespect for other Personal Trainers who offer a different experience then I do. We are all different and require different attributes when looking for a Personal Trainer. So I thought I had it all sorted.... I live in a nice house, I drive a nice car, I have two of the most amazing kids in the whole world and I'm finally doing what I love! I want people to embrace their bodies, to celebrate them and most of all to love them. But I found myself slipping back into old habits when someone close to me made the statement ' You could lose some weight'. Instead of seeing it for what it was I started to look at myself differently the voices in my head were saying 'Yes your fat' 'What is the good of all this if I'm just going to look like this anyway' 'I may as well give up everyone thinks I'm fat'. I've now had some time to think about it all and here's what I've realised. The person who said this is obviously insecure about themselves and knows the old me would take the bait and then they would have control over my feelings. The new me is confident and happy in her own skin even if it is a little heavier then it used to be, it's still amazing, it's been carrying my arse around for 34 years, it's given me two gorgeous kids and it's stronger then ever. The only person that is in control of the way you feel about yourself is you! Don't let the comments and judgements of others determine how you feel about yourself. YOU ARE AMAZING!!!!!
