A shake & stir theatre co and QPAC production Roald Dahl’s George’s Marvellous Medicine Adapted for the stage by shake & stir theatre co What starts as just another boring day for George quickly turns into a marvellous experiment of epic proportions! Cleverly adapted from the much-loved book by Roald Dahl, George's Marvellous Medicine bounds off the page in a spectacular live show for the whole family. On a good day, George can't stand his Grandma. She complains all the time, she's mean and she smells funny. On this particular day, Grandma is much more annoying than usual and George has had enough. EIREBORNE Created by Maryanne Fogarty, ex international dancer with Riverdance and nine times Australian Irish Dance open champion, directed by award winning Nigel Turner-Carroll (The Tap Pack) and choregraphed by Jessica Prince, the featured soloist in the American tour of Jason Gilkison’s Burn the Floor, Eireborne is a fresh modern take on Irish dance. This show pushes Irish choreography to the limits and is fused with contemporary jazz, tap and ballet, featuring renowned lead Irish dancers hailing from international touring shows such as Riverdance and Lord of the Dance are complimented by two commercial ballroom dancers from Burn The Floor. The athleticism is non-stop throughout the show as dancers attack the floor to twenty seven Irish hit songs and will have the audience standing in their seats. What is unique about Eireborne is its celebration of Ireland's contribution to the world of music - the entire soundtrack is comprised only of songs written and/or performed by Irish artists. Hit songs from U2, Van Morrison, Thin Lizzy, Gary Moore, Hozier, Sinead O'Connor, The Script and many, many more. Leading Irish singers and actors perform many a familiar tune and charm the audience with their lilting Irish brogue and comedic responses. Throughout the show the audience are transported to Ireland and taken on a journey to experience the true essence and talent of Irish singer-songwriters - all set to Irish dance. After several successful European tours in 2016 and 2017 the Chamber Philharmonia Cologne (Germany) is coming back to Wagga Wagga in February with a powerful and lovely new programme. The permanently expanding repertoire of the Chamber Philharmonia Cologne consists primarily of hand-picked pieces. The real appeal of our programme lies in the meeting of popular and unknown works from a wide variety of musical epochs. This sees familiar greats like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Vivaldi in dialogue with works from people such as Sergei Prokofieff through to the “King of Tango” Astor Piazzolla. This mix promises great diversity of the very highest order, without us having to preach to the audience in the process. After all, music is for entertainment and not for instruction. Ticket Prices: Adults: $41.00 | Concession: $36.00 | Student/Child U15: $31.00 Tickets can be purchased from the Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre box office or website.
