Congratulations to ALHD "Dyson", his owner and the Lions Club of Balaklava after Dyson successfully passed his sound and public access test yesterday to become an officially accredited ALHD.

Welcome to our latest recruit "Gilly" she is an 18mth old Labrador x Golden Retriever. Gilly came to us via the Royal Society for the Blind (RSB) guide training program after she wasn't suitable for their training program. She has settled in well at work as you can see by her relaxed manner in the yards.

Trainee ALHD "Winston" was showing off our new "L" plate training jackets when he went to Target at Castle Plaza. The new jackets are made of a more durable and lightweight material and are suitable for all weather conditions.

ALHD "Stanza" will be the 562nd dog placed when he goes to his new owner on Monday the 13th of November. Stanza was sourced from Animal Welfare League SA and is a 3yr old Whippet x. Stanza will be his owners second ALHD that will support her by alerting to sounds in the home and being by her side out in the community.

This week CEO David and Training Co-Ordinator Darren were welcomed by Hearing Dogs for Deaf People NZ for two days where they had the oppurtunity to join in and observe all aspects of the program. A big thank you to Clare and all the team for making us feel so welcome!

He is a beautiful Lab/Staffy X with a lovely temperament but he is not coping in the kennels. He will need a home that has very secure fencing ideally with someone that is home a lot or can take him to work with them. He has gotten along well with the dogs he has socialised with at work. He has been desexed, vaccinated, had his pro heart injection, flead and wormed.
