The La Perouse Snake Show, the longest continuous running snake show in the world The La Perouse Snake show is the longest continuous running reptile show in the world, made famous by the local Cann family.

Snake showmen have performed around the pitch at La Perouse since the late 1800's. The first known performer was Fredrick 'Professor' Fox. Since 1919 George Cann Senior began a weekly feature of the show up until his death in 1965, when his sons George Jnr and John continued the show. The brothers entertained thousands of people for many years. George Jnr sadly passed away in 2001 and John continued the shows solo until his snake show retirement in 2010. Since then, the Hawkesbury  Herpetological Society has managed manning the snake show. The current showmen are dedicated to the cultural significance and public educational value of this unique show every Sunday and Public Holiday from 1:30pm.
