Here's a clearer photo of the scrap newspaper I found inside the antique bellows I'm currently restoring. There's no date on it but the ad is for Myer's Silver Jubilee, which according to the following link was held on the 30th of August 1937! http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/11107031 I can't imagine that the scrap newspaper would have been used in the original construction process; it's more likely to have been used in a repair job. Hopefully my restoration will breath life in to the bellows for another 79 years!
Fireplace bellow
This bellows has been used in my parent's fireplace for as long as I can remember. I reckon it's around 100 years old. It's definitely seen better days so I thought I'd strip it down and restore it.
