It was a fantastic day on Monday. Thankyou to all the dignitaries for their time and to the passenger and locals who became rescuers on that fateful day in 1947. The Camp Mountain Rail Crash display will still be available for viewing on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. This 70th Anniversary DVD, "Camp Mountain Train Crash" is now on sale at the museum for $15. It contains historical images and recollections from many folk recalling that fateful day in 1947. The DVD is proudly supported by Moreton Bay Regional Council, Samford Museum and Bluegum Media.

Greg Hallam, Historian with Queensland Rail, will be joining us at the museum on Monday as we commemorate the 70th anniversary of Queensland's worst rail disaster at Camp Mountain. The Samford Museum will be holding a Service by the Rev Peter Armstrong on Labour Day, Monday 1st May at 10am at the Museum. The Commemorative Display will also be available for viewing on Sunday & Wednesday 10 to 4 and Friday 5th May (70th Anniversary) 9am to noon. You can view displays of treasured items from our troops while overseas, research your family history with Charlie Nolan and Museum Members. Have old fashion billy tea and damper (yum with syrup). Enjoy a sausage sizzle and Anzac biscuits with tea or coffee for a small fee. Free entry on the 25th April 2017.
