Tali Gallery

A very poignant article from the Aboriginal Art Directory about the sad loss over recent years of several artists from the Ngurratjuta Many Hands Art Centre which promotes the work of the descendants of Albert Namatjira. We have some wonderful work at Tali G by both living and deceased watercolourists from this community and also some evocative and affordable acrylic paintings by Reinhold Inkamala. We've held several exhibitions and artist workshops in watercolours at Tali G over recent years, one of which was recorded by NITV, and we also curated and managed a NAIDOC week exhibition for the City of Sydney at Customs House Library in 2013 where Di gave a Curator's talk about Albert Namatjira, the work and the art centre. Such a talented group of artists with an amazing legacy, now including a fifth generation, passing on their cultural heritage through art.

A very happy client sent us these photos of her beautiful artworks now up on the walls in her home. Polly Ngale (Bush Plum) and Jeannie Mills (Bush Yam). Both are from Utopia in Central Australia. There is another photograph coming with her magnificent Kathy Maringka painting purchased earlier in the year. Yhanni stretched them all. We have several other works by these artists in varying shapes and sizes, from 30x30s to extra large. You're welcome to send an enquiry by email di@taligallery.com.au

We love these two paintings by Jeannie Mills - they are each 90 x 90cm and the richness and colour variations with a magical play of light are really glorious! They are great stand alone pieces or would make a brilliant diptych where they could be hung side by side with a 20cm gap in between stretching out the size to 2 metres. There are some examples of created diptychs on our website - two paintings by the same artist in the same size hung side by side - different but belonging..... http://taligallery.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/20140321_131542.jpg

We have received a delightful selection of Tjanpi baskets adorned with luscious emu feathers, woven from desert grasses and raffia by traditional artists in the APY Lands. One is off to an overseas museum but there is a range of sizes by circumference and depth, as well variety in shapes and colours remaining for our special clients!
